HL Deb 19 June 1991 vol 530 c18WA
Lord Sefton of Garston

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they make representations to the Post Office in regard to the issue of commemorative postage stamps.

Lord Reay

The selection of themes for its annual special stamp programme is an operational responsibility of the Post Office. As such, it is not a matter in which Her Majesty's Government would seek to intervene. The role of the Department of Trade and Industry is confined to advising the Post Office on any political aspects of particular stamp issues and protocol.
