HC Deb 18 June 1991 vol 193 c141W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will issue a direction to the National Rivers Authority to conserve water in the Doncaster metropolitan borough council area by restricting the amounts extracted by individuals and businesses.

Mr. Baldry

No. It is for the National Rivers Authority to consider how best to safeguard water resources in the Doncaster area as elsewhere. I understand that the authority is already well aware of, and actively investigating solutions to, certain water resource problems in that area.
