To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement regarding the standards of waste incinerators in Scotland's national health service hospitals.

The standards of clinical waste incinerators in the national health service in Scotland are expected to comply with current pollution control legislation.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland whether waste from hospitals in Scotland is entering water supplies.

As far as I am aware no hospital waste enters potable water supplies in Scotland.
