§ Mr. ThurnhamTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what instructions he issues to police forces in England and Wales on the procedures for prompt checking of prospective adopters of children from overseas in order to comply with entry clearance procedures; and if he will make a statement;
(2) if he will revise his instructions to police forces on the procedure for checking prospective adopters of children from overseas for entry clearance in order to shorten the procedure.
§ Mr. Peter LloydGuidance to police forces about checking those applying to work with or to care for children is contained in Home Office circular 102/88. We have no present plans to revise it.
