HC Deb 10 June 1991 vol 192 c397W
Mr. Ashley

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what information he has received from his Department's monitoring exercise of claimants who do not qualify for invalid care allowance in specific weeks because their children return home from residential care on alternate weekends; and what action he proposes to take.

Mr. Scott

In the 12 months to May 1990, out of a total of about 35,800 invalid care allowance decisions, 120 claims were disallowed solely on grounds of the effects of intermittent care. There are no plans to change the present rules.
