§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonBy 30 April 1991, 15 sales had been completed under the rent to mortgage scheme within Scottish Homes' Renfrew and Inverclyde district and a further six applications were being processed. Since the extension of the rent to mortgage scheme to local authority tenants from 1 April 1991, some 20,000 expressions of interest have been received from across the country, including over 1,300 from Renfrewshire and Argyll.
