HC Deb 03 June 1991 vol 192 c52W
22. Sir Robert McCrindle

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the present position of discussions with the United States of America on civil aviation matters.

Mr. McLoughlin

Preliminary discussions have taken place about the possibilities for further liberalisation of transatlantic air services and talks will resume later in the year. Our aim will be to remove obstacles to fair competition, which hinder our airlines at present, and to remove unnecessary regulation.
