HL Deb 25 July 1991 vol 531 c67WA
Lord Cocks of Hartcliffe

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will examine the survey of the Avon and Somerset Police regarding crime committed while on bail, which shows that between January and March 1991 people on bail were arrested in connection with a third of the crimes in the force's area; and whether they will consider creating a new offence of committing crime while on bail.

Earl Ferrers

The Government will examine the results of this survey and a number of other studies carried out by police forces and by the Home Office Research and Statistics Department.
