HC Deb 25 July 1991 vol 195 c894W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, further to his answer of 2 May,Official Report, column 280, regarding ambulance services in Wales, if he will give an undertaking that his proposals will not be finalised and no action taken to change arrangements for the ambulance services without (a) an adequate period of open public consultation and (b) seeking the views of hon. Members.

Mr. Nicholas Bennett

I am happy to repeat my earlier assurances that there will be widespread consultation on the consultants' recommendations before any decisions are made on possible changes to the structure and organisation of patient transport services in Wales.

Consultation will begin shortly and three months will be set aside for the submission of comments. The views of right hon. and hon. Members in Wales will be invited along with those of other interests.
