HC Deb 24 July 1991 vol 195 c658W
Mrs. Mahon

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how long it takes on average for his Department to decide whether a particular house is exempt from the right to buy because it was built for occupation by people of pensionable age; and what steps are being taken to speed up procedures.

Mr. Yeo

Decisions taken so far have averaged about eight months. More staff have been allocated to this work in order to speed up decisions.
