HL Deb 24 July 1991 vol 531 cc62-3WA
Lord Walton of Detchant

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether in the light of the recent report from the British branch of the International League Against Epilepsy, they will make available central funds to support the development of supra regional services in the National Health Service in order to provide training and facilities needed to promote the surgical treatment required for some patients with epilepsy.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Baroness Hooper)

The Government receive advice on such questions from the Supra Regional Services Advisory Group. I understand that the advisory group has been considering an application for designation of an epilepsy surgery centre, and will make its recommendation later in the year.
