asked Her Majesty's Government:

To list the conflicts in the world since 1945 which have involved any of Her Majesty's forces and the estimated number of casualties incurred by Her Majesty's forces in each conflict.

Since 1945 Her Majesty's armed forces have been engaged in the following significant conflicts which have involved an exchange of fire:

The list excludes such other military operations as: the Berlin Airlift 1948–49 and the cod wars 1958–61, 1973 and 1975–76; other internal security operations such as Hong Kong 1956 and 1957; multinational/ peacekeeping operations such as the Lebanon 1983–84 and Namibia 1989–90; deterrent operations such as Kuwait 1961 and the Armilla Patrol in the Gulf from 1980, and military involvement in the evacuation of civilians from trouble spots, for example Cyprus 1974.
