Coalite Chemicals Ltd., Bolsover, is a registered works under the Alkali Etc. Works Regulation Act 1906 and the Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974. Emissions to air are subject to regulation by Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution. The inspectorate has initiated a programme to assess potential emission sources of dioxins-furans from the works.
