To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many applications for the use of live television facilities in cases involving child abuse or sexual abuse have been granted or refused, since the commencement of the provisions of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990; what were the reasons given for refusals; and if he will make a statement.

These provisions will be brought into effect shortly to allow pilot schemes at Edinburgh and Glasgow to proceed.
