To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what access to competitors' tenders was allowed to existing operators in the London Transport bus route tendering process; and if he will make a statement.

None. London Transport's tendered bus division treats all tenders for London Transport bus routes in the strictest confidence.

§ Mr. Cohen
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what percentage salary increase has been requested by the chairman and board members of London Transport with effect from April 1991; and when he expects to announce the level of board salaries for 1991–92.

§ Mr. Freeman
Recommendations for salary increases for members of the board of London Transport come to us in confidence and should not be known even to the board members concerned. My right hon. and learned Friend expects to determine board salaries for 1991–92 fairly shortly.
