Private Ambulance Services

Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will introduce legislation (i) enabling the setting up of a registration and/or regulatory body to lay down and enforce standards governing(a) staffing, (b) training, (c) vehicles and (d) equipment of all private ambulance services and (ii) requiring that these standards should be no lower than those applying to health authority ambulance services.

There are no plans to introduce such legislation.
