To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects irradiated spices to be on sale in the shops; and if he will make a statement.

I announced the issue of the first licence to irradiate spices and condiments on 12 June. The marketing of any products irradiated under the licence is a matter for manufacturers and retailers, not for the Government.
