To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how much money has been spent so far by the Tyne and Wear urban development corporation on progressing(a) the Newcastle Quayside development in east Newcastle and (b) the Royal Quays development in North Shields.

To 30 June 1991, £5.547 million had been spent by the Tyne and Wear development corporation at east Quayside, and £9.944 million at Royal Quays.
