HC Deb 03 July 1991 vol 194 c164W
Mr. Madden

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make inquiries of the appropriate authorities in Eire to ascertain why three students from Shipley college, two Pakistani nationals the other a Bangladeshi national, all settled in the United Kingdom, were refused visas to enter Eire on 18 June; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hurd

It is not the practice of Her Majesty's Government to intervene on behalf of foreign nationals who have been refused visas by independent sovereign states.
