HL Deb 02 July 1991 vol 530 c57WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why there has been no thorough consultation with the London office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and with British voluntary organisations during the current review of arrangements for political asylum and refugee-status; and how they intend to remedy this.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

We are in regular contact with the London office of the UNHCR and with voluntary organisations active in the asylum field. Their views are known to us and they will be taken into account in the current review.
