§ Mr. GummerRestrictions have already been placed on holdings which have received pigs from premises with suspected or confirmed cases of blue-eared pig disease within a 56-day period prior to the day that suspicion of disease was reported.
§ Dr. David ClarkTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give details of restrictions imposed on premises with suspected or confirmed cases of blue-ear disease in the past 72 hours; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. GummerTwo suspect cases were reported and three cases confirmed within the 72 hours prior to midday on 28 June 1991. The suspect cases involve premises already under restriction, having received pigs from infected premises. One of the suspect cases is in the parish of Paull (Humberside), within the restricted zone; the other is in the parish of Saxilby with Ingleby (Lincolnshire) and is very close to the Humberside restricted zone which has now been extended to include this case. The confirmed cases are in the parishes of Beeford (Humberside), Burneston (Humberside) and Shelton (Norfolk). There are at present a total of 14 confirmed and 10 suspected cases.
