Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will list the topics of each television advertising campaign to be carried out by his Department and any other publicity campaign costing more than £100,000.

Mr. Leigh

The Department has no immediate plans for further television advertising. In the current financial year publicity activities in support of the following elements of departmental programmes are expected to cost more than £100,000:

  • Enterprise Initiative
  • Single European Market
  • Export Promotion
  • Innovation, Research and Development
  • Managing into the 90s
  • Manufacturing Practice
  • Information Technology
  • Consumer Affairs
  • Business and the Environment
  • Inner Cities
  • The Queen's Awards for Export and Technology
  • UK Space Interests
  • Deregulation
  • Inward Investment (Overseas Publicity)
  • Staff Recruitment

This list excludes expenditure on the day-to-day marketing of services by the Department's executive agencies.
