§ Mr. ChopeRegulations were introduced in 1984 in the United Kingdom requiring all new heavy motor vehicles and trailers to be fitted with spray suppression devices complying with BS AU200. The Council of Ministers ha.s now agreed a European Community directive on spray suppression closely modelled on our existing requirements in the UK. But the minimum efficiency required has been raised compared with that required in 1984, reflecting improvements in spray suppression technology.
