§ Miss WiddecombeOur latest estimates indicate that the number of people in(a) Nottingham and (b) Great Britain receiving community charge benefit is 57,000 and 8.9 million respectively. The latter figure is 21 per cent. of those liable for the charge.
The figures are likely to understate the current position, as some authorities had a number of unprocessed claims when the data on which the estimates are based was submitted.
