HC Deb 20 February 1991 vol 186 c155W
25. Mr. Tony Lloyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the prospects for manufacturing industry in the north-west.

Mr. Leigh

The prospects for manufacturing in the North-West, as in the rest of the country, are excellent. Inflation is set to fall sharply, leaving industry well placed to build on the improvements of the past decade and to benefit from the completion of the single market and the opening up of eastern europe.
