HL Deb 20 February 1991 vol 526 c29WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps have been taken by the coalition to ensure that Jordan is sufficiently supplied with oil.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (The Earl of Caithness)

We have made clear to oil producing countries in the region our concern over Jordan's access to oil supplies. The considerable economic assistance to Jordan provided by countries in the Gulf Crisis Financial Co-ordination Group will help to pay for oil supplies from non-Iraqi sources such as Syria.
