Fegan relevant to their 187W appointment as non-executive members of Ayrshire and Arran health board; whether any record is kept of their political affiliations; what other appointments by the Secretary of State are held by any of them; and what are the conditions of termination of their appointment following a change of Government.
§ Mr. Michael Forsyth[holding answer 15 February 1991]: All the non-executive members are considered to have experience and ability enabling them to make a valuable personal and collective contribution to the board's work. A central record is not maintained of health board members' political affiliations. The persons in question do not hold other appointments by the Secretary of State. Non-executive members of health boards are appointed for a fixed term of office of two or four years.
