§ Mr. TrippierClinoptilolite is used to remove radioactivity from liquids in the Sellafield ion exchange plant. Radioactively contaminated clinoptilolite, like other intermediate-level waste, is currently stored on site. It is proposed that it be treated in the new encapsulation plant and stored prior to final disposal in the Nirex deep facility.
