HL Deb 19 February 1991 vol 526 cc23-4WA
Lord Stanley of Alderley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the Ministry of Agriculture will consult with both the Department of Education and Science and the Welsh Office before any decision is taken on the future of the Veterinary Investigation Centre at Bangor, bearing in mind that the A.55 will be routed through the University College of North Wales Farm.

The Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Baroness Trumpington)

My department has consulted the Welsh Office fully on the review of the Veterinary Investigation Service from the outset and we shall continue to do so. The Department of Education and Science has indicated that in relation to the Bangor Veterinary Investigation Centre responsibility rests with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
