To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many children from Northern Ireland are at present receiving grant aid from the Department of Education, Northern Ireland, to attend specialist schools for the deaf in the Republic of Ireland.

Twenty-three children from Northern Ireland presently attend specialist schools for the deaf in the Republic of Ireland and have their costs met by education and library boards, with the approval of the Department of Education, Northern Ireland.
