HL Deb 14 February 1991 vol 526 c12WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the 36 billion dollars reported (by the International Herald Tribune, January 28th 1991) to have been pledged by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, other Gulf States, Japan and Germany to the United States "to defray US costs" in the Gulf war is distinct from the moneys being dealt with by the Gulf Crisis Financial Co-ordination Group.

The Earl of Caithness

Financial contributions towards the costs of the multinational force are separate from the work of the Gulf Crisis Financial Co-ordination Group, which is intended to mobilise economic assistance to countries in the region most directly affected by the Gulf crisis.
