HC Deb 14 February 1991 vol 185 c568W
13. Rev. Martin Smyth

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on funding for capital costs in hospital provision.

Mr. Hanley

Funding for capital costs in the current year amounts to over £45 million, an increase of 18 per cent. over last year.

Schemes costing more than £1 million are managed directly by the Department of Health and Social Services, (that's about £16 million) with the balance administered by the hoards after option appraisal.
