HC Deb 14 February 1991 vol 185 c568W
12. Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement about the level of spending on the health service in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Hanley

A total of £1.16 billion will be spent on the health and personal social services in Northern Ireland in 1991–92. This is an increase of some £127 million or 12.3 per cent. over 1990–91, and demonstrates the Government's commitment to maintaining high standards of services, able to meet the demands of the 1990s.
