Why it was considered necessary to use handcuffs to remove a Palestinian from his office (as reported in The Times on 25th January), who 5WA authorised such action, and whether they will confirm that the person in question has since been released.
§ Lord ReayI understand that the person in question was detained under Schedule 3 to the Immigration Act 1971 during a joint operation carried out by the Immigration Service and the City of London Police. I am assured by the Commissioner of Police that handcuffs were not used. The person in question was released from custody on 25th January.
