Mr. Conway

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the present cost of a wholesale dealers licence from the Medicines Control Agency; and whether any additional charges are involved in applying for and obtaining such a licence.

Mrs. Virginia Bottomley

An application for a wholesale dealers licence costs £1,105. An inspection is usually necessary in order to determine the application for pharmacy and prescription-only medicines wholesalers, for which there is an additional fee of £1,105.
