§ Mr. MacGregorIn Session 1989–90, a total of 164 instruments requiring affirmative approval, 916 instruments subject to annulment, 49 statutory rules of Northern Ireland—subject to negative procedure—and eight special procedure orders were considered by the Joint or Select Committee on Statutory Instruments. These figures do not include Orders in Council and draft Orders in Council made or proposed to be made under paragraph 1 of schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Act 1974. Subject to the decision of the House, the Sessional Return relating to delegated legislation will include figures for the total number of statutory instruments laid before the House during this and in future Sessions.
