§ Miss WiddecombeThe Department's current nonsmoking policy, aimed at introducing extensive smoke-free areas in all DSS offices, was introduced in July 1989. A review of progress in June last year revealed that nearly 80 per cent. of the offices had introduced smoke-free working areas. In the remaining offices local discussions towards introducing smoke-free working areas were continuing.
