§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonSection 4 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988 gives Scottish Homes statutory responsibility for registering and monitoring housing associations in Scotland. Scottish Homes inherited comprehensive monitoring powers from the Housing Corporation in Scotland and in addition has issued performance standards for housing associations which it, and the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations expect associations to work towards.
