HL Deb 06 February 1991 vol 525 cc52-3WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the total amount of unused credits at prevent available to the Soviet Government for purchases from the United Kingdom.

Lord Hesketh

I can, of course, answer only with regard to credits supported by the Export Credits Guarantee Department (ECGD).

It has been the practice of successive administrations riot to make public details of ECGD's limits on individual countries. In view of its large existing commitments, ECGD is currently reviewing its cover for exports on medium term credit to the USSR.
