HL Deb 05 February 1991 vol 525 c42WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What information they have about the persons imprisoned in the fortress of Khiam in South Lebanon; whether access has yet been afforded to humanitarian agencies and what proportion of the prisoners (if any) is serving a sentence imposed by a court.

The Earl of Caithness

We understand that there are still several hundred persons under detention in Khiam prison, most of whom have not stood trial. Our most recent information is that access to humanitarian agencies has still not been allowed.
