What action they are taking to ascertain the extent to which German firms have contributed to Iraq's development of chemical, biological and gas warfare, and to the enhancement of its missile capability.

We understand, however, that a number of German companies have been prosecuted and that investigations are being made into the activities of others. We remain in close touch with the German authorities about such issues.
