HL Deb 05 February 1991 vol 525 c41WA
Lord Rippon of Hexham

asked her Majesty's Government:

What action they are taking in response to the Belgian refusal to supply British troops with ammunition.

The Earl of Caithness

We continue to maintain close contact with the Belgian Government, bilater-ally, through the WEU, NATO and EC, about all aspects of the international response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Details of our requirements for logistic support are confidential. Although the Belgian Government felt unable to meet one request for ammunition, they have helped in other ways. They have indicated that they will give swift and sympathetic consideration to any future requests.
