HC Deb 18 December 1991 vol 201 c186W
Mr. Latham

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will instruct Her Majesty's ambassador in Madrid to request that the Spanish Government investigate the circumstances in which the defective water heater, held by a British inquest to be the cause of the death of Petty Officer John Black, disappeared from the apartment in Sabinillas, Spain, in which he died.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

No. Both Spanish and British investigations concluded there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Petty Officer Black's tragic death. The second inquest held in this country in April this year returned a verdict of accidental death.
