HL Deb 18 December 1991 vol 533 c75WA
Lord Sefton of Garston

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What body has taken over the Greater London Council's responsibility for maintaining records such as building plans for the construction of multi-storey blocks within Greater London.

Baroness Blatch

When the Greater London Council was abolished in 1986, those of its records relating exclusively to the discharge of functions which became exercisable by another body were vested in that body. All other records were vested in the London Residuary Body (LRB). Under the terms of the London Residuary Body (Transfer of Property etc.) Order 1990, the ex-GLC records which vested in the LRB were transferred to the Common Council of the City of London.
