HC Deb 17 December 1991 vol 201 cc136-7W
Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what consultations he has had with the chairman of the Welsh Health Common Services Authority concerning the units of administrative headquarters work for that authority which are to be relocated to the new headquarters building at the Roath basin, Cardiff; if those units unclude the artifical limb and appliance service, currently based at Rookwood hospital, Llandarf, Cardiff and the National Blood Transfusion Service currently co-located with the Prince of Wales hospital, Rhydlafar, Llantrisant road, Cardiff; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Nicholas Bennett

A full option appraisal was prepared by the authority, which considered various alternatives for its relocation. The appraisal concluded that neither the artifical limb and appliance service nor the National Blood Transfusion Service should be housed in the proposed new accommodation due to the nature of the services they provide and the nature of the building in Roath basin.
