HC Deb 10 December 1991 vol 200 cc381-2W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make it his policy to require British Nuclear Fuels plc to install a plant to remove radioactive krypton prior to the opening of the THORP reprocessing plant.

Mr. Heathcoat-Amory

The question of discharges of radioactivity from the THORP plant is a matter for discussion between British Nuclear Fuels plc, the chief inspector of Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in the context of authorisations required under the Radioactive Substances Act 1960.
