HL Deb 09 December 1991 vol 533 c26WA
Baroness Fisher of Rednal

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether a child who has special educational needs can benefit from the Assisted Places Scheme.

Baroness Blatch

Schools in the Assisted Places Scheme may admit children who have special educational needs provided that, in the school's judgment, the child will benefit from the type of education on offer. A few APS schools have units attached to them which provide special facilities for children with, for example, specific learning difficulties.
