Public Sector Borrowing Requirement

Mr. Shore

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will list the public sector borrowing requirement from 1970–71 to the 1992–93 estimate(a) in cash terms, (b) adjusted for inflation, and (c) as a percentage of gross domestic product.

[holding answer 28 November 1991]: The figures are in the table. An estimate of the PSBR in 1992–93 will be published in the next Financial Statement and Budget Report.
