§ Mr. FallonRisk of exposure to asbestos in buildings, including schools and colleges, was reported to be low by a Government working party in 1987. It is for local education authorities and other responsible bodies to judge the need for surveys in schools. In 1986 the Department distributed updated guidance on asbestos in educational establishments, including advice about the circumstances under which a survey might be required.
