§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyThe number of placements made in facilities providing secure accommodation for the years 1985 to 1988 is published in "Children accommodated in secure units during the year ended 31 March", copies of which are available in the Library. Figures for 1989 will be available shortly. This information was not collected centrally prior to 1985. Figures on proportions could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
